Can you Feed the Beauty with Twitter?

May 13, 2010

Twitter has not been an intuitive or agile helper in my social media toolbox.  Facebook-with all its growing pains and dysfunctional mannerisms-is easier for me to use.

It’s not the short span of 140 spaces Twitter allows to get the point across; I find that limitation a creative challenge. Zesty.

No, it’s more like the send button you pushed on a email before you thought it through…once an error is made, it’s done. In the case of Twitter it’s publicized in nano seconds for everyone to see. Never 2 b taken bk.

I know there are a lot of you out there who have tried Twitter and given up, pulled out, cheeks pink with shame:

“Ooooohnoooo…The url shoretner did not work and my full website address is showing!” I’ve embarrassed myself so often my self-appointed nickname is TwitDorkness.

But I kept Showing Up on Twitter with my red face and good intentions and guess what? I found kind people who graciously look the other way when you commit a Twitter faux pas.

People I share common interests with, generous souls who want to share from their abundant resources.  Smart ones to learn from.  Artists to be inspired by. Like photographer @picsiechick

What treasures have you found only on Twitter?

Oh, Sophie! This was such a lovely surprise! I’m humbled, delighted, blushing, even. It is special to me when anyone finds my pictures inspiring. But to be liked, too? I don’t know what to say!

Really, we all stumble our way through life, and if we’re not stumbling, we’re probably not on the right path. Twitter really isn’t much different.

I’m glad you’re finding Twitter friends who are kind, helpful and inspiring. Keep at it – you’ll be surprised how many friends you can make! And thank you for being mine.

    Hugs and butterflies,
    ~T~
